Mark Karelse

Executive Coach

Based on 25 years of hands-on experience as Global HR Executive at multinationals like ING, Philips and Carlson Wagonlit Travel, I support transformation processes at organization and individual leadership level. In my view the heart of change is the ability to change the behaviour of people and unleash their potential to be successful in an evolving context. As an Executive Coach I guide my clients through their leadership transitions in search of Leadership Impact and High Performance. In context of an evolving business reality, I encourage and challenge them to reflect on their aspirations, critical success factors and potential derailers, to identify new ways of operating, to experiment with alternative behaviour and to internalize new leadership patterns and habits. During this process clients explore and connect with their own inner change engine to power their personal leadership journey.

I feel privileged to work with exceptional leaders and high potentials with different functional expertise (Sales, Marketing, Technology, HR, Supply Chain) in industries like Pharma, Banking, Metal, Technology, Consulting and others. My clients are located in EMEA, Asia and the US.

As a global citizen I consider The Netherlands as my home country. I have lived in the US, France, Belgium and have worked now for 25+ years across cultural environments. My professional background is in Industrial Psychology and I hold a Master’s degree in Management & Organization. I am an Associate Certified Coach, accredited in 2015 by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Since 2019 I am board member of the ICF Netherlands chapter and actively involved in further development of coaching as a profession.

Currently I live in Amsterdam together with my spouse and 2 children who call themselves young adults. I love to travel exploring new countries and cultures. Combined with visiting museums, this is truly fueling my creativity and change engine.
